Many, many thanks for the article about that fine old fellow, Washalsie. I know quite a bit about him, but it's good to be vividly reminded of him again.

Are you going to hunt books with me in Portland this summer, if and when I come out? That would be fun! I do want to raid that bookstore — Carson's, isn't it? What pickings!!

Lucile's speech was perfect — beautiful too, and it made me very very humble. I've heard appreciative remarks about it from a number of people.

I'm hoping I may see you this summer. I want to.
