Dear Edna:

It certainly was good to be with you, and we did enjoy that good lunch.

I plan to leave here a week from today by air. Hilda (my second daughter) will meet me at Denver (750 miles from Columbia). She will have her three youngsters with her and we'll look around the mountains a bit before we start back back for Columbia.

I'm sorry that I can't manage to see you and John and Hugh again before I go.

I think I promised you a copy of my Cycle of the West. Is that all I promised?

I'll be here until the 8th, if you want to write me.

With affection for you, John, and Hugh —
