Dear Bower:

Thanks for yet another generous act in my behalf! You still surprise me, altho' it has been long since I first learned of your unselfish interest in my work. — And, you aroused interest in Lucile!

Things go well here. There is more publicity around here than ever — TV, radio, talk among housewives, businessmen, students. My Epic America class is the largest yet and the new Arts and Science auditorium is tops in every way.

They are planning big doings in Nebraska when the bronze bust is unveiled. My visit there recently was a joy all around. It was like coming home — and that after 40 years. There seemed to be no strangeness (People are dear.)

I know you are going like a dynamo, as usual. I do marvel at your tremendous industry. I admire it too, but I do like to think of the few times we've been together with maybe a bit of O-Be-Joyful handy and nothing at all to do but be happy friends.

(inside)
With affectionate thoughts as always,
