I was very glad to receive your lovely letter at Vermillion.
You will have received Dr. Christ's account of my 'doins' up there. And, boy! them was some doins'! (What's a little grammar between old friends?) Christ sent me a carbon of his report to you. I wish you could have been with me to see what it was like. Ben and I did a video, and we were on TV in Sioux City. Also, we did a record of the Death of Crazy Horse with his chant. (This only for record) Most of my work was done alone, and the response, from both faculty & students was "enthusiastic" truly. This certainly is an "understatement". My talk to the faculty (off-hand & without notes) was one of the best I ever did, & they gave me a big response. The dinner affair was one of those explosive "wows" and so were the class talks & readings.
We had 17 inches of snow and for a day I feared I'd be marooned indefinitely! Flew both ways. Got back in time for class.
I still don't like you any at all — do I?
Say nice things to Bower, Stewart and Perky.
John
I do so wish I could be around secretly at one of your lectures on poor Gaki! I know how good latest your latest lecture was, but I wish I could have heard it. Reports so often don't report. However, I do get a strong impression of your success in that sacred Browning Room.
John
Met Leland [?] at the K. C. airport!! He asked about you and the biography.

It was a joy to be with old Ben again! He felt the same as I did, and we were happy together. When we met first, he hugged me and I felt as he did.

(This is the final post script!)
I bet you'll read this letter over and over and over. It surely is a lovely one.
