Dear Lucile:

It was good to hear your voice again, altho very little got itself said. For some unjustifying reason I was pretty silly in seeming I suspect. I did want to say something but didn't get it said. Anyway, it's all right now.

The MS of notes will go to you within about a week. I'm having Enid copy it because there are interlineations and additions in the original.

I'll plan to be with you right after the end of this semester. We should use a recording machine. I'll send the tape record I made soon. It will help a lot in spots.

(over)

I'm eager to know about your experiences in London. It's a pity I didn't get over to be with you a little while. I did seriously flirt with the idea of making a fast trip over and back. I wish I had.

I'm so eager for this biography to be ready for publishing. There are so many occasions when it is needed. It will be a fine thing if you can use me as a convenient source when you have no other.

With the old affection -

John N.

I've been receiving some fine letters.
