I'm just back from the University of South Dakota where I made seven more videotapes of my stuff. They now have fifteen half-hour tapes. I was gone a week — left just as your letter arrived. I was certainly happy to hear from you again after what seemed a long silence. The Aly family seems to be in a liquid state — Cornell, Eugene, Hawaii and then? You invited me to make the Hawaii trip with you'ns on March 5th! How I wish I could! — and I would if I were not tied here. — If it were June! I'm wondering if Bower will be called away from Oregon —?
I had a corking time in South Dakota. Lectured four times in addition to the recordings. Read poetry at the men's college in Yankton — Mount Marty. It was a fine experience. The nuns were greatly moved by April Theology and Easter. The head head of the College, Sister Teresa, is an enthusiastic fan for The Song of the Messiah — and she understands it.
Big preparations are being made for the Neihardt dinner in Bancroft on March 25. I wish you were going to be there. Also big preparations are being made for the Laureate Tour — 40 years after!! It has backing from the Governor Governor down.
