Dear Lucile,

I've been re-reading your letter of March 8, and it makes me happy. I'm especially pleased with what you say of the Messiah and the way you say it — "its own music", "luminous beauty" etc.

I'm writing this merely to say hello to all of you there that you may know I'm thinking of you with affection.

Two weeks from Wednesday I'll be running over to the U of Kansas. Immediately afterwards I'll run into Vermillion for four or five days at the U. of S. D..

Did I tell you that Bancroft has made the first Sunday in August "Neihardt Day"? And they are working on a Black Elk pageant to be given every year on that day. The 16 horsemen will be only a relatively small pa part of the show, I understand.

I do too like you'ns!!
