Dear Lucile:

Here are several things I think you may want to hear.

The World Herald of Omaha has just issued its Centennial Edition in which the "ten top persons" in Nebraska Century of Statehood are listed. The ten were chosen by a poll of the professors of history at the colleges and universities of Nebraska. Among those included were, naturally, Senator George W. Norris, William Jennings Bryan; Count Creighton, builder of the first telegraph to the Pacific; J. Sterling Morton, father of Arbor Day, and Secretary of Agriculture under Cleveland; Willa Cather; Mari Sandoz, etc.

Did I tell you about the National Conference held at Kansas City on the 15th of February, sponsored by the Department of Labor and the Indian Bureau? I opened the big banquet at the President Hotel.

Did I tell you about the affair at the Governor's Mansion?

I am dictating, as you see, to Enid; and I want to be sure that I sent you these items.

Affectionately,
