[?][?]me all about [Brans?][?]
_______
Dear Lucile:

We reached home at 6:30 Monday. Alice arrived an hour later I am still thrilled with all that happened last week and on Sunday night. It was a joy to have you there. Of course there was much that could be, and will be, improved in the Pageant. The horse-dance was successful, I thought. But what moved me deeply was the feeling of child-like happiness that seemed to dominate the audience and all who were in the Pageant. Did you fe note this? For me, that was the success of the affair.

It was so good that you could, and did, come!

I am much encouraged about the biography. If you can have the time needed, you will do a fine job. What you read to me was good stuff. There will be a few objections when I read the whole MS, and I do hope you will accept my suggestions. They will not be very profound, but I'll be pretty sure they are right before I make them. And I'll not suggest anything that is not in your interest as much as mine. My Lincoln friends like you very much. And, my God! Why not?! They are dear and so are you.

I'd like to know your K. C. friend better. Fine person, clearly!

Love —

Did you see the study and the Prayer Garden? I do hope you did.

That was a happy time! So good to see you.
