Dear Lucile:

I am wondering about your Book. Have you heard from Bruce? I have not seen him, and I hesitate to write him as to what they have decided.

Please drop me a line.

Hilda is doing all my business. I've made her my legal agent to represent me in all deals regarding my book-and-movie rights. Bruce has just told her that, in addition to the Wayfaring and When the Tree, they will publish the Wars and the Messiah in one volume under the title, The Twilight of the Sioux. This will be Vol. II of the Cycle. Vol I will be The Mountain Men. Bruce remarked in a letter to Hilda that they would have the complete list of my books. However, he does not know Indian Tales, the two novels, and Poetic Values.

An Eastern publisher wants the rights to publish the Wars (and Messiah?) in hardback. Bruce says to go ahead.

Movie rights are still dangling, but two agents are working for Black Elk (which is still selling big.

Love to each of you. — And I do want to hear what the Press decides.
