Yesterday Florence found a complete newspaper account of the 1917 commencement at the University of Neb. It gives all the names, including Willa Cather and myself as recipients of the Litt D degree.

I still wonder why you rejected my testimony.

There must be several more accounts — one in World-Herald of Omaha for certain.

I received the LLD from Creight Creighton University in absentia while I was on the Post-Dispatch in 1928.

W We were named as present and receiving the same degree. An account is given of Theodore Roosevelt and General Pershing who were unable to be present and were awarded their degrees in absentia.
