Dear Dr. Warren:

I have been going over my tna angle of mail and I have run across your letter of March 16, 1973. It has given me great pleasure and I am not certain that I have answered it myself. At any rate, I am writing you now to thank you most heartily for what you have said in this letter.

Also I want to thank you for your telephone message to Mrs. Young regarding the legislature's passage of the resolution honoring me as Epic Poet of America. Such appreciation is sufficient compensation for the long years of work and waiting.

I hope I shall see you again before too long.
