Mr. George Babcock 2503 Brookside Avenue Omaha, Nebraska 68124
Dear George:

Thanks for a good letter, and for your kind words about me and my poetry.

You say that you also try to write poetry but have difficulty in getting it "off the ground." Judging by the verses you sent me, I would not be surprised that sometime in the future, if you work hard, you may be able to get one foot off the ground, if not both.

Meanwhile, read English poets, and I think it would be good for you to become acquainted with my lyric entitled "Poet's Advice." You will find it on page 110 in my LYRIC AND DRAMATIC POEMS. It was written to a boy of about your age whose name was also George.

With every good wish, your friend,

John G. Neihardt
