Dear Julaine Konselman:

I have received your letter of May 29, 1973, together with the galleys of Winifred Blevins' book Give Your Heart to the Hawks.

I am extremely sorry that I have been ill for some time and am at present so full of antibiotics that I can hardly handle my mail. It would be impossible for me to read the galley now or, I fear, in time for your purpose. I regret this because I am sure the book is worthy and because its author is an old student of mine.

It is barely possible that I can have a portion read to me in time to make some comments. If so, I will be glad to write you again.
