Letter from John G. Neihardt to Edna Skilling, August 31, 1963
I was very glad to hear from you, and I'm delighted with the photo of your masterpiece It certainly seems to be just that you do such beautiful things. I'm wondering how you value such a piece of work. (I mean in money, which is a poor way to measure value). Have you offered this lovely thing for sale?
I think I told you that I have a Fulbright grant for lecturing in India. I plan to leave about Dec. 15, stop awhile in Europe, and then go on to India, where I'm going to stay four months, being at a different university each month.
MyThe paper-back edition of my Cycle of the West is out, & I'll send you a copy. My Lyrics & Dramas will be out in April (in paper-back, but a very nice edition).
I still have pain in my back, but I'm hoping it may quit soon.
I'm glad old John is all right now. He was a dear good loyal pal,
[bless?]
bless him!
Give my regards to Hugh!
And here is affection for you.
