Letter from John G. Neihardt to Lucile Aly, November 19, 1963
I am grateful for your dear, good letter just rec'd. I'm fairly all right - a bit raggy at times because of the "traumatic pleurisy", which shortens my breath. But I'm doing well enough. Letter-writing hurts my eyes, and I flinch from the job. -
I am very busy much of the time, having taken on too many speaking engagements. And tomorrow I fly to Vermillion, S. D. to be on the U. of S. D. campus five day days. The idea is to record me, as U. of Mo. and U. of Neb. have done. I'm paid to the do the job, of course.
I'm trying to postpone the India trip because of my short breath. How I do wish I could be with you! Too bad the accident had to interfere!
We have about 9 pages of your MS left to read

and correct. You will need the the
MS with the corrections because the latter refer to marked passages and sentences. You write beautifully when you know & feel the

material.
