Letter from John G. Neihardt to Bower Aly, June 26, 1964
June 26, '64
Dear Bower:
I'm afraid I can't be with you in late August. I need to be back here for some important horse shows, as this should be a big year for my champion, Right-As-Rain. I was unable to attend any show last summer. It has seemed best that I should be with you in late July and early August. I haven't been free to make definite plans yet. But I do greatly appreciate your thought of me, and surely the Ashland experience of two years ago was worth repeating, to put the matter [mildly?] !
I've heard about Cornell through my friend, Dr. Kendrick, who has recently returned from Cornell.
Congratulations!
Affectionately — John N.
