Letter from John G. Neihardt to Lucile Aly, May 25, 1966

Dr. Lucile Aly 1138 22nd Ave., E. Eugene, Oregon Dear Lucile:

I have just gotten out of the hospital after more than a week. I went there on Friday, the 13th (!) with a violent attack of pneumonia. They filled me up intravenously with a gallon of dextrose and forty-five million units of antibiotics. That ought to kill something, and it seems to have killed the pneumonia, leaving me pretty weak. I have also had innumberable "shots".

I was very glad to hear that you would actually be here on May 30th and with the MS. I am very eager to see you and to hear what you have written.

This will be all for now, but let me hear from you. Give my best thoughts to Bower and Stewart.

With the old affection for each of you, John N.
