Letter from John G. Neihardt to Lucile Aly, August 18, 1966
Aug. 18, 66
Dear Lucile:
I do greatly miss hearing from you!
The affair at Bancroft was an astonishing success! There were nearly 1500 in the crowd, and the Pageant (from Black Elk) was a joy. The whole crowd seemed to be enveloped in an atmosphere of affection and happiness.
The lectures at WayneWayne (two weeks) went off in great shape. They had a sculptor on hand to make a new bust of me. It is really good. It is to be unveiled (in bronze) at Homecoming Oct. 14. At the time there will be a parade of 42 floats, each representing some scene from the Cycle.

With the old affection —
John N.
