Letter from John G. Neihardt to Bower Aly, March 3, 1969
Lincoln, Neb,
3-3-6'9 Dear Bower:
Many, many thanks for your letter! It did me a lot of good. I am so glad to feel that Lucile will be able to go ahead with her Book. I wish I were nearer to you two! I might be able to help a bit in the final reading.
I'm moving
[ahead?]
ahead with my "The Old Man Remembers" It's not biographical in the ordinary sense. I don't know of
any book with a similar plan, and it's fun to write!
I've had two cataract operations, and will have lenses this coming week. At present I'm writing one-eyed!
I should be pretty well furnished with eyes when I have the new lenses!
Golly! What a winter.! Even you were covered with deep snow at one time — 34 inches, I believe the weather man said!? Roses and 34 inches of snow!
With affection, as always — John NeihardtUNITED STATES WASHINGTON 5¢
