July 11, 1973 Chancellor James H. Zumberge Office of the Chancellor The University of Nebraska — Lincoln Lincoln, Nebraska 68508 Dear Chancellor Zumberge:
I must beg your pardon for delaying so long in replying to your letter of June 14, 1973. It reached me while I was in the hospital. I am still very much under the weather, but I want you to know that I was perfectly delighted by the action of the Board of Regents in renaming the residential hall complex in my honor.
I am especially pleased to know that this action of the Board of Regents was taken at the request of the students of the complex, for I have a warm place in my heart for the young people of the present generation. In fact, old as I am, I claim honorary membership with them.
With thanks and all kind thoughts, yours John G. NeihardtJGN:nh
